Roadside to Retail, Westfield

In their first joint event, The Screen UK and POPAI UK & Ireland are combining on Thursday September 9th 2010 to hold a morning briefing on the use of digital signage in-and-around the retail environment.

‘From Roadside To Retail’ will examine how brands and retailers are using digital out-of-home media to communicate with customers throughout the retail journey. Driving shoppers into the malls, then into the stores and finally to the tills.

This informal meeting will be held at London’s newest and largest undercover shopping destination, the Westfield Shopping Center. Hosted by John Pizzamiglio, Head of Media at Westfield, attendees will hear brief presentations from leading industry experts before undertaking a guided tour of the Westfield site.

Alongside its unrivaled collection of retailers, Westfield is one of the only purely digital media advertising sites in the world. It has a vast internal advertising screen network installed and managed by CBS Outdoor, a unique iconic external system operated by Ocean Outdoor, and a ground breaking interactive digital wayfinding developed by Connect IB.

This unique session will provide valuable insight into the opportunities for targeting customers with digital out-of-home, whilst offering ample time for networking and discussion of the points raised. There is very limited space available for this one-off event, so early registration is recommended.

Speakers Inc:

John Pizzamiglio, Head of Media Westfield, will introduce the day and provide the background to the Westfield experience and their work across the digital medium.
Fiona FitzGibbon, Head of Impact Sales at CBS Outdoor, will present their approach to selling media within the shopping mall environment.
Richard Malton of Ocean Outdoor, will discuss the impact of their large format outdoor LED systems, including their unique mega-site on the Holland Park roundabout.
Chris Hull of Connect IB, will discuss the learnings from their wayfinding system, which connects retailers directly to the public via interactive screens and retail offers.
Angela Coleman, of iVista and Jason Cremins of Signagelive.com will discuss the new concept iconic design for Sky’s Retail Stores at Westfield and the role digital media plays to create the contemporary, paper-free zone that champion’s Sky’s digital brand, drives footfall and delivers new customers.
